The Problem

As more seniors express a desire to remain in their homes, Jewish Senior Life recognized the significant need for memory care services imbedded in the community to support caregivers and provide social and engaged activities for persons with dementia still residing at home. They engaged Perkins Eastman to create a secure guest house and respite center for families with a relative with dementia that reflects “home”; the house also needed to be a resource center for education and support, and fit within the residential character of the neighborhood.
