NYU: Stern School of Business

New York, NY
Perkins Eastman has worked with NYU for more than ten years in reimagining the academic and faculty environments in three different buildings for the Stern School of Business, ranked consistently among the top business schools in the nation. These projects include:

Tisch Hall: A multiple-phase, in-place renovation to the tower floors of the undergraduate Tisch Hall. Designed in 1972 by Philip Johnson, the building’s aging interior required three major moves to bring it in line with modern academic and faculty environments: establishment of light and transparency as physical and symbolic themes; creation of interior spaces that recall design trends in current, professional/financial institutions, including smart room lecture halls; and leveraging NYU’s unique urban setting to the fullest extent possible.

Paulson Auditorium, NYU’s largest lecture hall with a 470-person capacity, and the Commerce Room, Stern’s most prominent and public general meeting and presentation room.

Kaufman Management Center: Renovations to multiple floors of this graduate building, which include faculty and alumni offices, and to lecture halls throughout, including a 178-person “smart room.”
