A lifelong lover of the arts, Alan credits his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theater stage design at Carnegie Mellon University as the launching point for his architecture career. His subsequent Master of Architecture degree gave way to a dedicated career spanning more than three decades. In his role as COO, Alan is keenly focused on the operational, financial and cultural success of our studios and the firm. As an accomplished designer and leader of our higher education practice, he champions a thoughtful, people-first approach in work across many disciplines and is particularly well-versed in the design of student-oriented auxiliary services that augment the college experience. Schlossberg maintains strong ties with Carnegie Mellon as a patron of the Theater Arts program and frequent design studio juror in the School of Architecture. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, camping, fishing and reading about generational and consumerism characteristics to help inform his higher education work.
