Passionate about civic life and culture, Betsey gives back to her communities as often as possible. As a Managing Principal of the Costa Mesa and Oakland studios, she leads the practice with a signature focus on creating positive experiences for people through design. With expertise in K-12 educational facilities, early childhood education, higher education, and municipal and government facilities, Betsey brings a collaborative approach to institutional and public clients. A long-time volunteer leader committed to advancing the profession of architecture, Betsey has served as AIA California President, an AIA National Board Member and Secretary, and as Chancellor of the AIA College of Fellows. Through her involvement in various other industry organizations and work with local colleges and high schools, she strives make architecture equitable and accessible for all.
