Lawrence Adams

“As an architect who specializes in hotel design, I am always looking for ways to enhance the hotel guests’ experience, to make it more invigorating and stimulating. Hospitality design requires that you go beyond mere functional plans and incorporate elements that inspire and enhance human sensibilities. We take the same approach to designing the staff areas of a hotel so that the workplace is likewise nourishing to the human spirit. The Perkins Eastman credo of Human by Design is a guiding principle in this endeavor.”

With his extensive hotel and resort-design knowledge, Lawrence knows how to create environments that provide guests with a luxurious escape from the every-day. Across his 40-year career, the award-winning architect has developed an impressive portfolio of hospitality, mixed-use, and senior-living work. He currently specializes in large-scale development projects and luxury hospitality design, and is comfortable managing and directing complex projects. A natural leader, he collaborates often with designers, developers, and hotel executives to ensure goals are aligned. Having previously taught Master’s Degree courses on Hotel Design and Development, Lawrence deeply enjoys sharing his knowledge. Outside of work, he serves as an editorial board member for Hotel Business Review and is the co-author of the definitive book on hotel planning, as well as several articles on sustainable design.
