iFLYTEK Corporate Headquarters joins a community of China’s leading technology-driven companies that will launch Guangzhou’s new Pazhou Central Business District. Occupying the prominent, southeast corner of the new CBD, iFLYTEK forms part of the four-tower composition that establishes the Eastern Gateway to the Pazhou Business District. From this vantage point, the headquarters tower enjoys sweeping views of the Pearl River and of the Guangzhou International Convention Center & Park. The high visibility afforded by the corner site invites an iconic architecture that distinguishes iFLYTEK as well as the Pazhou High Tech CBD.
The 36,000 sq. m. headquarters facility includes column-free office space in “boutique” floorplates of 1,100 sm, corporate amenities (dining, café, conference center, spa and fitness, recreation/lounge areas, penthouse terrace), a 2-level retail podium at street level, a below-grade retail concourse that links to the CBD’s concourse network, and 150 executive parking spaces. The tower’s design can be described as three “bundled bars” that step away from the adjacent office tower. This stepped form increases building separation and privacy, while improving views. The “bundled bars” create a slimmer profile and more elegant proportions for the tower’s massing, while giving the top of the office building a distinctive silhouette against the skyline. Another notable feature of the design are the six stacked atria that command the tower’s southeast corner. By day, the atria form a monumental signpost that establishes iFLYTEK’s identity as well as that of the Pazhou CBD. By night, the stacked atria glow, and become a welcoming, illuminated lantern. Finally, as befitting a leading technology company, the facades are an exposition of state-of-the-art solar shading design. A system of horizontal and vertical brise-soleil made of fritted glass is engineered to greatly reduce the amount of solar radiation that passes through the curtainwall into the building’s interior.
