New York, NY (February 14, 2025) Global design firm Perkins Eastman celebrates principals Stephanie Kingsnorth, Eric Fang, and JinHwa Paradowicz on their elevation to the 2025 American Institute of Architects (AIA) College of Fellows.
Stephanie, Eric, and JinHwa join a select class of 83 member-architects in AIA’s 2025 Class of Fellows. Fewer than 3% of AIA members hold the prestigious FAIA designation, an honor awarded to architects who have achieved a high standard of excellence and have made significant contributions to the profession that create a ripple effect on a national and global level. While Stephanie, Eric, and JinHwa’s area of focus differs, their work exemplifies Perkins Eastman’s Human by Design ethos—placing people at the center of architecture to create resilient, inclusive, and sustainable communities that improve lives and address pressing global challenges.
Stephanie Kingsnorth
With more than 25 years of creative and technical practice working with historic, midcentury, and recent-past buildings for cultural icons, civic landmarks, and academic campuses, Stephanie is a steadfast advocate for the essential value of adaptive reuse. She has reimagined the role of preservation in revitalizing diverse campuses and urban communities through embracing the imperatives of climate change, cultural equity, and pride of place.
“I have always been passionate about the reuse of existing structures and the resulting potential to revive communities, improve lives, and demonstrate that reuse of existing buildings is critical in the pursuit of sustainability in our built environment. I’m honored to be recognized for this by my peers and to be elected to join the College of Fellows,” she says.
Eric Fang
Eric is a dedicated champion for resiliency and sustainability at the community scale, and this honor recognizes his transformative plans that integrate infrastructure, placemaking, and development, as well as his efforts in defining and promoting the architect’s role in addressing climate change. A lifelong student of the city, his award-winning projects and thought leadership have been widely cited in professional and academic publications.
“I am truly honored and gratified for this recognition from my peers,” he says.
JinHwa Paradowicz
A passionate advocate and architect focused on dignity, equity, and social impact, JinHwa leads transformative designs for vulnerable populations with empathy and care. She has made exemplary efforts in advancing the architectural profession: from her unwavering commitment to create healthy environments for underrepresented communities, to her pioneering work in intergenerational design, to her quest to empower and invest in the next generation of diverse architectural professionals.
“Being elevated to the AIA Fellowship is an immense honor,” she says. “Architects’ work goes beyond creating built environments; it also carries a social responsibility and significantly impacts the well-being of greater communities. I hope this recognition will enable me to better support the next generation of architects and continue working toward healthier communities for all.”
