New York, NY (February 9, 2026) – Global design practice Perkins Eastman is pleased to announce the appointment of Clara L. Wineberg, AIA, LEED AP as Principal and Practice Leader, reinforcing the firm’s strategic growth in living experiences through a broad lens including residential, senior living, and mixed-use communities across the United States.
“We are thrilled to have Clara join us to help continue build our national practice.” said Shawn Basler, co-CEO of Perkins Eastman. “Her leadership and experience across the full spectrum of housing and community-focused environments—and her deeply collaborative approach—embody our belief that great design is centered on how people live, connect, and thrive,” Shawn adds.
Clara will shape environments through an integrated lens that honors both programmatic clarity and design expression. Her approach to complex urban projects effectively balances entitlement, energy considerations, community engagement, and a detailed understanding of those who will call these places home. She is known for strengthening teams as they enter new markets and expand into diverse project types.
“This is a pivotal moment for how we live, age, and connect,” said Clara. “Our work comes from a single belief: the spaces we design fundamentally influence people’s daily lives and experiences. Every project tells a story of place and its people.”
Clara’s expertise has been realized nationally, with significant development experience in Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Her expertise will contribute to Perkins Eastman’s continued growth as a design leader in residential, hospitality, senior living, and beyond with deep experience in both established and emerging housing markets.
Alongside her professional accomplishments, Clara is actively engaged with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) in Boston and globally. Currently, she sits on the ULI Student Housing National Product Council and the Women’s Leadership Initiative Advisory Board in Chicago. She has also served on various not-for-profit boards, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to community well-being and civic engagement.
