Pittsburgh, PA (September 28, 2026) – Perkins Eastman has promoted Jennifer Askey, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, to Principal and named her leader of the Workplace and commercial mixed-use practice in the firm’s Pittsburgh studio. As the office market in Pittsburgh continues to see growing demand and reduced vacancy, Askey will leverage more than twenty years of experience designing workplace, commercial mixed-use, and college and university projects in shaping the city’s office market.

In her expanded leadership position, Askey will set the direction of the Pittsburgh studio’s workplace portfolio, deepen relationships with the region’s corporate and development clients, and continue to lead project teams from concept through construction. Her work spans a wide range of workplace environments and sectors from legal, to financial, technology, and creative services to realize interior fit-out, new construction, and building repositioning projects. Most recently, she has worked with FHLBank on their relocation and on Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Innovation Center’s new building and interiors which brings together university research partners to turn physical AI innovation into real-world solutions. She has also activated mixed-use vertical campuses, master planning and implementation, and major building repositioning projects.

A lifelong Pittsburgher, Askey is passionate about her city’s ongoing transformation from aesthetic, economic, and human perspectives. That passion has shaped her work across several practice areas and has made her a frequent guide for clients facing complicated sites and approvals. As a former member of the City of Pittsburgh Planning Commission, she brings deep expertise in building codes, zoning, and entitlements, and she applies it to help clients navigate complex real estate and development challenges. Her oversight gives project teams continuity in design quality, technical execution, and process.

Askey also serves on Perkins Eastman’s Technical Quality team, where she acts as a trusted technical resource for both the Pittsburgh studio and the firmwide workplace practice. She draws on that expertise to mentor her teams, and she promotes the firm’s collaborative studio culture as a Perkins Eastman Mentor Program Champion.
