Principal

“Architecture is storytelling, representing the perfect blend of two passions: art and history. Science and technology design adds a third source of inspiration—the people it serves. Some will use these spaces in the pursuit of cures, while others will look to them as beacons of hope. A science space, therefore, must combine function with aspiration.”

Matthew Malone co-leads the firm’s Science and Technology practice and has been shaping innovative research environments since 1997. Recognized for his collaborative approach to working with scientific organizations and institutions, he has directed complex design initiatives and contributed to award-winning projects through strategic leadership and design expertise.

Matthew specializes in delivering speed-to-market solutions that balance exceptional design with technical performance for developers, higher education institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and R&D organizations.

Drawing on experience as both a laboratory designer and commercial developer, he guides projects from concept through construction. He brings a comprehensive perspective that bridges business objectives and the realities of project delivery. Throughout every stage of a project, Matthew helps clients navigate decisions that enable researchers to do their best work and advance scientific discovery.
