Pittsburgh, PA (September 9, 2026) – Perkins Eastman has named Amy Maceyko co-managing principal of its Pittsburgh studio. Amy joins Lee Pellegrino, Co-Managing Principal, in leading the office and will oversee the studio’s award-winning work in college and university, residential, senior living, healthcare, workplace, and commercial buildings.
Maceyko is an award-winning architect who has practiced in Pittsburgh for over twenty-five years in a variety of project types, with a focus on university campuses. She has managed complex, phased renovations—the kind that keep a building in service while crews work around students, faculty, and staff—and she has built a reputation for moving competing campus interests toward a plan everyone can support. Her project experience also spans workplace and commercial interiors, multifamily and student housing, classrooms, recreation centers, hospitality, K–12 schools, and retail.

Perkins Eastman has operated in Pittsburgh since 1994. The studio is known for work with Carnegie Mellon University, of which Amy is an alumnus, including the newly completed Robotics Innovation Center and The Posner Center for Special Collections. The studio’s other recent work includes the renovation of University of Pittsburgh Alumni Hall; Marshall University’s Brad D. Smith Center for Business & Innovation; and Pittsburgh-based award-winning projects, including headquarters for Dickie McCamey & Chilcote and the repositioning and renovation of the lobby and tenant spaces for 525 William Penn Place.

In recent years Maceyko has concentrated on college unions and student life spaces, from early planning through design and construction. She keeps project teams and campus leaders focused on students in every design decision, and she works to build consensus among the many groups—administrators, student government, dining and facilities staff, consultants, contractors—who each have a claim on how a union functions. That work led to her role as a co-author of the second edition of College Union Dynamic: Flexible Solutions for Successful Facilities, which ACUI published in early 2026. She has also presented at ACUI and NACAS conferences on unions, student life programming, and dining facilities.
Maceyko has been licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania since 2004 and LEED accredited since 2006. She traces her interest in campus work to a long-standing attachment to the arts, theater, and education.
