Amy Maceyko is a Principal and co-leader of the Pittsburgh studio. The convergence of her expertise in college and university work combined with her design leadership of complex projects has resulted in a variety of interesting projects, repeat clients, and the opportunity to see work positively impact student campus communities. Her 25-year career in the sector stems from a lifelong passion for the arts, theater, and education.

In recent years, Amy has focused almost exclusively on the planning, design, and development of best practices for college unions. She works to ensure that the project team and campus leaders maintain a student focus in all design decisions — facilitating consensus among diverse community stakeholders to develop buildings that are welcoming to all.

Designing spaces that foster community, gathering, equity, and inclusion created a base of knowledge to support her work as a co-author on the second edition of College Union Dynamic: Flexible Solutions for Successful Facilities, published by ACUI in early 2026.
