Drexel University School of Education

Bruce Levine“Serious efforts to improve PK-12 schools have to take a holistic approach that encompass not only the quality of curricula and teachers but also the physical spaces in which teaching and learning occur.”

Leading the Drexel University collaboration with Perkins Eastman, Bruce is passionate about working to ensure that the opportunity for a high-quality public education is available to all Americans. He recognizes this will not come about without an interdisciplinary effort to identify and implement best practices, combined with developing the political will to push for this goal.  That is why he was attracted to working with Perkins Eastman to leverage CDEO as a platform for work that brings researchers in education and related fields like public health and public policy together with architects and designers to focus on schools as critical community infrastructure.

When not thinking about education policy and law and civic literacy—the foci of his current work—Bruce serves as an elected official in Washington, DC, and  continues to add to his world travel total of countries and territories visited, which currently total 60.
