With a background in fine art, Liz came to architecture through a curiosity about how occupiable spaces could emerge from artistic forms. At the start of her career, in 2001, she worked in construction alongside a former professor and fellow students. That experience shaped her passion for uniting design and construction.
Liz continues to prioritize architectural craft with a focus on building science and sustainability, working with large design and engineering teams to solve complex problems creatively. She has spent much of her career leading developer-driven multifamily and mixed-use projects in the Washington, DC, region but considers herself a general practitioner. She has also contributed to adaptive reuse and historic renovation projects, recently turning her focus toward institutional work, including senior living and healthcare.
