Michael Parker

AIA, LEED AP BD+C

Associate Principal

As a young child, Michael was inspired by a family member’s newly built underground house. Never having seen an underground house before, he started asking questions: How it was built? Did water come in? Why would someone choose to live underground? This memorable visit sparked in Michael the desire to keep learning more about the way buildings were built, and why. Combined with his love of drawing, his path became clear. Michael has been practicing architecture since 1995. He’s spent much of his career focusing on complicated yet thoughtfully designed Large Scale Mixed Use projects. In the process, he’s developed a rich technical skillset working on these difficult project types and others, which include K-12 Education, Senior Living, College + University, and Hospitality.

He oversees quality control reviews at every project milestone for the DC studio. He also serves as a mentor for younger members of his project teams, teaching them how to do his job and bringing up the next generation of leadership.
