As a result of Perkins Eastman’s master planning effort, Franciscan Ministries’ Marian Village campus repositioned its existing interior amenity spaces and introduced a new memory care environment. To meet the evolving needs of its residents, a small house model of care was selected for the memory care addition. The new structure was strategically situated adjacent to the existing assisted living building, creating a seamless connection that leverages shared campus services and ensures safe, comfortable movement for residents throughout the community.

The addition introduces two households, with the potential to accommodate a third. Each household provides nineteen private studio residences and one two-person suite, all with full bathrooms. Thoughtfully curated amenity spaces, including a kitchen, living room, dining room, conservatory, and den, are woven into each household to support daily living and encourage social engagement. Shared life enrichment spaces serve the broader community, accommodating larger gatherings, programming, and events that connect residents across the campus.

The community’s residential character is expressed through the rich texture of brick paired with the natural tones of stone and wood, evoking warmth, material authenticity, and a sensory environment that supports resident comfort and well-being. Open room layouts enhance flow and connectivity, while expansive floor-to-ceiling windows provide natural light and a strong connection to nature. The result is simple yet refined: clean lines, warm woods, and textured stone come together in a striking, balanced aesthetic.
