Supporting the University of Miami Health System’s mission to provide exceptional patient care and education and conduct breakthrough research and clinical trials, Perkins Eastman developed a master plan that helps re-establish the institution’s goals. The design provides a clear guide for the next 20 years of facility, site, and capital planning as well as technical details and requirements for changes to the campus. The design team conducted extensive analysis of existing buildings and lands to reimagine how research, education and clinical care in a campus setting will be conducted in the future. The master plan identifies current and future functional space needs, establishes utilization strategies and priorities, and improves the quality of the campus environment to create the optimal physical environment for healthcare, teaching, and research.
