Perkins Eastman, with Alten Construction as our design-build partner, is providing programming, design, and construction to replace the existing, 83-year-old elementary school campus. The new school will celebrate the Stege community and support the whole student’s wellness by providing natural daylight, thermal comfort, acoustic control, and healthy materials. The school will also support the educator with small learning villages, each one of which will have a new staff-work and prep room. Each classroom village will also have a dynamic outdoor learning space. These spaces will be welcoming and representative of the school’s culture and theme of “Stege Stars” using color, form, graphics, and enhanced design that embraces the school community. Located on a tight, sloped site, the new campus will embrace universal design principles by implementing ramped walkways in lieu of stairs as well as inclusive, gender-neutral restrooms. The school is scheduled to open in the fall of 2027.
