Funded by the 2024 ONEder Grant and in collaboration with One Workplace and Kansas State University, Perkins Eastman’s Design Strategy team has uncovered valuable insights into what makes flexible, unassigned workspaces feel more like “home”:
- Comfort, privacy, and personal identity matter more than seating arrangement
- “Hominess” can happen anywhere—when certain conditions are met
- Thriving in open-plan, free-address environments means balancing key tensions inherent to these spaces
