The Effect of Individualized Work Settings on Productivity and Well-Being | Phase 2

What if your surroundings at work were tailored to support your unique personality traits and preferences? Could you think more creatively, interact better with your colleagues, or focus more deeply if you had the power to modify your environment throughout the day? This paper, the second in a three-part collaboration with furniture designer Three H, looks at the relationship between the individual user and their work setting. In the analysis of three different office environments, the study uses site observations, interviews, personality assessments and surveys to understand how the environment can best support different personalities in the workplace.
